Prof. Gideon Nyamasyio was invited to the Eastern and Southern Africa CSOS workshop on sustainable land management organised by East Africa Sustainable Watch through Tanzania Coalition for Sustainable Development and SusWatch Kenya. Prof. Nyamasyio presented a paper entitled "Challenges facing partnerships and information sharing in sustainable land management: the case of the GEF co-finaced Below Ground Biodiversity Project". The two day workshop took place in Land Mark Mbezi Beach Hotel.

Challenges Beyond Borders: Nuclear Waste and Our Future

On 15th September 2014 the School of Biological Sciences was happy to host a visiting Professor and students from Yokohama National University (YNU) and held a seminar discussing the effects of nuclear waste. The discussion topic was about ‘Nuclear Waste and our Future’ where we had a presentation covering the Fukushima accident and the aftermath, issues of nuclear contamination and de-contamination, spent fuel problems and decision making about nukes.
