The University celebrated the first inaugural talents day on Friday 12th March. The theme of the Day was “University of Nairobi the home of Talents.” Students and staff showcased different talents from the different categories; music, singing and poetry, ICT and engineering innovation, arts design and fashion show, karate, taekwondo and dance, modeling, catwalk, Mr and Miss Talent day and other categories like bible citation, narrative/spoken word, instrumentals and news presenters.

Vigorous auditions had been conducted on March 10th and 11th and the first 5 winners on each category competed on the talent day.

Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiama committed to continue to nurturing talent.’’ Talent day is an exciting day and special day. This experience will be long lasting’’ he said. The VC also noted one way of measuring talent is showcasing and nurturing talent.

The college of biological and physical sciences emerged the 2nd runners up in ICT and Engineering innovation. Campus Chronicles Association presented a short film on HIV/AIDS.
